Awaab's Law represents landmark legislation introduced to protect social housing tenants from dangerous living conditions. Named in memory of two-year-old Awaab Ishak who tragically died following prolonged exposure to damp and mould in his Rochdale home in December 2020, this law will force social landlords to investigate and fix hazardous conditions within strict timeframes.
Barrister Christian Weaver who represented Awaab Ishak’s family during the inquest that changed housing nationally shares more detail in this ‘Focus’ episode.
